DIY Chevron Wall & Painting Projects
Being the obsessed-with-chevron person that I am...
I'm certainly lovin' this DIY wall tutorial that I found at SabbeSpot.
Or this DIY on Style Files is a good one,
or this DIY for Chevron paintings found at
Make Under My Life would make a great impact.
So many talented ladies out there! I love all of these fab DIY projects.

Home Tour: John & Vivian Bencich
Saw this house tour on Design*Sponge and had to share it! I am so taken with this room. The paisley wallpaper on the ceiling knocks the room out-of-the-park. The Oly Studio Elizabeth buffet is amazing and fits perfect in that space and in that room. Get the full scoop, photos, and information at Design*Sponge.
"This beautiful home belongs to architects John and Vivian Bencich. When John and Vivian purchased their house, it had barely been touched for 70 years and was in desperate need of a refresh. So the couple worked to bring in more light, add smart storage and workspaces and open up the kitchen and den to create a spot for family gathering. It’s now a bright, modern and welcoming home!"

(and yes, I used awesome... my 3-year-old son now uses this word for everything!
"Mom, that's not cool, it's a.w.e.s.o.m.e!" He corrects me all the time and so I'm now hooked.
Let's just bring it on back! AWESOME! :)

"You Had Me At Hello!" Journals & Notecards from Modern Palm
These journals and notecards are so beautiful...
they'll have you at Hello!
Just one look at these journals and notecards
and you'll fall in love with how darling they are,
but you'll also love the fun & unique decorative interiors of the journals
and the different designs that are included in the notecard packs.
From birds & owls, to flowers & trees,
there are so many different themed journals and cards.
**I personally love using journals to keep track of things my children say and do. Each child has their own journal and periodically I'll write down different quotes they say, cute or not-so-cute things they do,
different facts or current favorites (food, colors, movies, books, etc.).
On their birthdays I'll write them a little note/letter in their journal.
And someday, when they're older, they'll receive these journals.
Also, in a world of technology, I still believe in the power
of notecards and thank you cards...
I personally love to receive a thank you card in the mail.
The thought is so personal and lovely.
How about you?
Are you good at keeping a personal journal or what do you use them for?
Are you good at writing cards or do you still love receiving them?

White Hot Decor
Not sure why, but this photo speaks to me.
Maybe it is the crisp and bright neutral white with the pop of Green.
Good natural elements and texture. The bonus is the beachy vibe. So lovely...

Coffee Table & Ottoman Round-Up Ideas
photo via Robyn Karp
I'm on the hunt for a coffee table or ottoman for my Family Room.
My little Baby G ruined my last table when he was teething...
I have teeth marks surrounding the table!
So, I'm researching and trying to narrow down what I want. Obviously it has to be kid-friendly.
I'd like it to add texture or a different element to the room.
Here are a few finds and ideas... I'm always for some good suggestions if anyone has any.
via Urban Barn
This ottoman by Jonathan Adler is one of my favorites! Although I love the bright, fun ottomans,
I also love the look of clear tables which leave a room looking larger and more airy.
If I could afford,I would die to have this coffee table, which was featured in Cottage Living magazine.
I adore the texture of the root wood mixed with the clear top. Simply perfect.
And then there is this mighty beauty found via Jessica Helgerson.
I'm obsessed with white and the detail is fantastic!
OH! If ONLY!!.....

The Whistle Bag by Jack and Lulu in Modern Palm + Julie Murphy Home Tour
While flipping through my blessed magazine, Coastal Living,
I spotted my favorite canvas bag inconspicuously placed in the beautiful home
Julie happens to be the founder and owner of Jack and Lulu,
a line that I happen to carry in Modern Palm.
Julie's home was featured in the December issue of Coastal Living. They restored a 1785 cottage in Rowayton, Connecticut, and it is sure a charmer.
I loved seeing what they've done to this darling home.
While the home now looks more modern and updated,
they were able to still hold on to the character, charm, and old-fashion
feel that really makes the home so timeless and welcoming.
Are you surprised that I'm loving obsessed with these yellow Tolix chairs?
This bedroom has a lovely antique iron bed with bedposts topped with pineapples.
Love the symbolism of the pineapple= hospitality.
And how darling are those 1951 prints of birds from a
book called "All About Your Canary"? Such a unique and personal display.
Julie, what a beautiful home. I am in love with your style and designs,
and love having Jack and Lulu items in Modern Palm.

Sarah Richardson: Primary Colors 1,2,3
"My Primary Colors are 1,2,3... Red, Yellow, and Blue"
Always a fan of Sarah Richardson, I'm always checking in on her to see her latest and greatest.
Today I spotted these lovely rooms she designed for the the Interior Design Show 2011.
This blue den was inspired by the wall sconce, floor lamp, and clocks.
I love how it is rich and grounded, yet funky and fun. The perfect combo.
Right about now, in February, even though I should be all about red and pink,
I start craving yellow and green.
I am obsessed with this yellow bedroom.
Sarah knocked it OUT.OF.THE.PARK with this room!
Go Yellow! Go Yellow! Go, Go, Go Yellow!
I'm in love with: the hints of orange, that striped dress,
the white coffee table, headboard, foot tables. Um...EVERYTHING!
I used to have quite a bit of red hints in my home.
Although I don't feel ready to incorporate it again quite yet,
I'm really enjoying this dining room and loving those chairs.
I also featured Sarah Richardson on my site here.
