House Love

I only have the after pics here, and I'm sad to say I'm still trying to find where I save these from.  When I find, I will share.  I love how fresh and simple all of these rooms are.  That rock fireplace rocks!

Salt Lake Parade of Homes

These are a few pics that I took of some ideas that I liked from the Salt Lake Parade of Homes.  I want to do that wall of mirrors in my home!  I also love how the granite counter is taken all the way to the floor.  And I like the simple and countemporary look of the black back splash.  I was only able to squeeze in a couple of homes this year!  Darn! Going to the parade is a love/hate thing.  I love going and getting ideas, but then I hate coming home because I want to redue everything with the latest and greatest!

I'm Lovin': Dav Rainboots and Umbrellas

It's raining and snowing today...so how perfect are these boot beauties?!  I'm so lovin' how fun and unique they are!

dav rainboots come in many different styles: equestrian, sporty, city, cowboy, fashion, english, laceup, etc. I wish that I could have one from each category!

Happy Halloween Week

Happy Halloween Week!
These pics are from last year, but I didn't blog last year and I thought these were so fun, I had to share.  A-girl had a Halloween dance performance to the Purple People Eaters.  It was too cute!

We love the tradition of going to Gardner Village to check out the witches and decorations.
I love how they go all-out for every holiday.

We had an obsession with batman last year.  I mean a serious obsession!
Thus the batman, batgirl, and batbaby!
I can't wait for their theme this year...

House Love

I love the stripped ceiling and the different colored fireplace

Confession:  In the past, I have not done well in recording where I have saved my pictures from that are in my "House Love: House Ideas" file.  I feel badly that I don't have the sources of these pictures.  They are all lovely and all have good ideas that we can appreciate, so I will post them.... as I continue to search where I saved them from.  Currently, I am doing much better at recording and keeping track of where I am saving things from!  Yea for me! :)
While building my current home, I kept notebooks and files of house ideas, decorating ideas, and architectural ideas. Over the years it has become a sort of hobby of mine.  I still have my old files, and I am always adding to them.  If we ever build again, I don't know how I will ever narrow down my ideas.  There are so many wonderful things to do and I'd love to do them all.

Love the Zebra rug!  Oh how I'd love one right now.
Love the stripped curtains and the bold single stripe chairs.

Love the neutral palette.  Love the detail in ceiling and the light fixture and the pink sign.

Love mixing the green and plum. Great light fixture!

Wow! This bathroom rocks!  Love the bold green! Love mixing the direction of the tile!
Love the big oval mirror and black and white checkerboard floor.

Love the use of green and orange.  One can never have enough vases and love the palms.  I currently am loving the palms in my house....and even though it is fall, I am not letting them go! :) Notice the fun color-coded bookshelf.  Although I really enjoy it, I don't think I'll be doing it in my library... seriously, I doubt that my wee collection has enough colors in the rainbow to satisfy this look.

I'm Sooooooo Lovin': Green Cooking Pots

I have admired from afar a Le Creuset french oven for quite some time, but with the hefty price tag, I have never passed the admiration stage.  Well, how happy am I to find a wonderful new line of ecofriendly cookware called Greencookingpots . The owners and creators, Cafe and Mica, say that their enameled cast iron product "absorbs heat and distributes it evenly, making for very efficient cooking, whether it is the slow braising of meats or the simmering of soups. They can be used on any heat source including the oven for casseroles or the making of bread."
Their fetching resemblance to Le Creuset  is just the icing on the cake. And speaking of cake, you can bake one in the shape of an apple or pumpkin, since these can withstand the heat of the oven.
Besides specialty pots, the collection includes grill, roasting, and saucepans; Dutch ovens; and skillets in red, orange, yellow, green, and blue.
These could not be more fun and fabulous!
