How Big is Social Media?

This video is a fantastic example of how fast social media is growing and how important it is not just in business, but everyday life. It is really quite amazing...

Happy Things~ Guest:No Biggie!

It's that time of week again!  My guest is Kami from No Biggie!

In February, I highlighted some cute mailboxes she made for Valentines.
Her blog is a great go-to for tips and crafts.
We met at the ALT conference in January, and discovered that she is an old high school friend of my brother.  We had never met until now, and I'm so glad we did.  She is so fun and so talented.

Here are 10 Things that make Kami Happy:

1. That moment when you first lay down to go to bed at night. Knowing that you can relax and think about anything, or nothing at all, and just fall asleep... Ahhh sleep!
2. My little family - I love the nights when we are all home together. I love seeing my husband play and wrestle with our kids; it's the best!
3. Coke Slurpees or "Icees" from Common Cents. They are my favorite!
4. Eating Out: Chin Wah for Chinese, Restaurant Morelia for Mexican, and In N Out for Burgers and Fries - Yum! Now I'm hungry!
5. Thrifting! Oh the things you can find at a thrift store! One of my favorites: Milk Glass!
6. Blogging - I have met some wonderful friends via blogs that I otherwise would have not. A blog is a great way to get to know someone and to find out what they really like and what THEY want to talk about.
7. Julie & Julia the movie - It was my most favorite movie this last year. I identified with it on so many levels: the food, the cooking, the blogging, the infertility of Julia... and the FOOD! I loved it!
8. Left-overs for breakfast - I've never been much for sweet breakfast type foods (ie: pancakes, waffles). Pizza for breakfast?! YUM!
9. My Tivo'd shows - Right Now, The Modern Family is my favorite. I have a thing for Phil Dunphy, he's hilarious!
10. Paper Crafts - Although I'm not a scrapbooker (GASP!), I do love all the awesome paper and tools available, because of scrapbooking.

Thanks Kami! Love your list!  Although I totally disagree with you about breakfast food! :)
I love it, especially for dinner.  No love? For reals?! Have you ever had crepes? German Pancakes? OK I'm so sharing my German Pancakes recipe with you and then I know you'll change your mind.
Totally agree about the movie Julie and Julia.  Loved it!

Happy Friday everyone!
I'm off to celebrate my anniversary in Park City/Midway. Yea!

Are You Kidding?
I want to cry I love this playroom/artroom so much.
It is so perfect, so organized, so functional, so fantastic!  Wow! I'm speechless.
This is from the home of Lisa Mahar:  mother of three and owner of Kid O.
If you check out the furniture there's a
George Nelson sofa along with a table and chairs by Alvar Aalto and Arne Jacobsen!
Don't you just love how organized everything is?

DIY Cake Stand

I've seen darling homemade Cake stands around at different boutiques and decided to try and make a few myself.  I used some plates, glasses, and candle holders that I already had. I then found some other darling and cheap plates at Ikea and Peir 1 Imports, and glasses at Target.  I then played around mixing and matching until I got the look I wanted:  different levels and sizes.

After you decide what top and base you are going to use, wash, dry, and apply a super strong adhesive that will work with with glass and ceramic.  I know some use Liquid Nails Adhesive but I tried Loctite Epoxy.  I'm sure there are many others that would work.

Apply a thin layer of glue and put in center of plate.  I put heavy books on while it dried just to make sure it would be sturdy.  I would advise to be careful how you wash this and obviously don't use the dishwasher.

Next, add a yummy cake, cookies, fruit, or super cute cupcakes!  I can't wait to be more creative and try new plates, cups, glasses, and bowls!  Hope you have fun and if you do this, I'd love to see what you come up with!  Here is another one I did last night.... just a fun, bright one for summer.

I-Man's 7th Birthday + Jedi Training

A-girl had a butterfly on her forehead from a party the night before.
I can't believe I-man is 7! It is just crazy to me.
He really wanted a Star Wars Jedi Training party... so, that is what he got.
We had light saber pretzels, yoda soda, galaxy popcorn and vader jelly beans.
Along with Star Wars cupcakes.  A-girl was Princess Padme, Mr. D was Darth Vador,
and I-man and his buddies were all Jedi Knights training.
We set up an obstacle course and they had to rescue Princess Padme
and make it back with the fastest time.
Luckily the snow that had fallen the day before, had melted the morning of the party.
I took a bunch of light brown fleece, and cut them all  into Jedi training gear.
They faught Darth Vador and had so muuch fun .
What tuff Jedi's!  Way to use the force boys...

Coastal Living+ Jill Johnson

I think I found the perfect home for me...
but the problem is it is located in California and someone else is currently occupying it.  I love and adore the home of Jill Johnson, which was featured in Coastal Living this month.  Lately, I have found so many great ideas and great articles via Coastal Living. I'm just loving them!
The colors, designs, the eclectic combination, different patterns.... it all speaks to me!  I don't surf, but I love the beach, so even the surf board rocks!  It all seems so calming and so fresh. I just love this house.

What style speaks to you? What colors do you love?

Pottery Barn Favs {right now}

Pottery Barn has some great home decor items out for Spring right now.
I'm sure we are all a little excited for Spring, and these items are perfect
to add a little freshness in the home. Here are some of my favs...

I adore this Nest Pillow!
ADORE!  I am so wanting it for my home.

I always have organizing on my mind.
You'd think that my home would be more organzied than it is...
these Wire Storage Baskets are a cute way to add a little storage that will be seen.

These Sculptural Birds  are so fun and perfect way to bring a little nature inside.

I am always a fan of white vases.  I can't get enough of white vases and pitchers.

Cover Girl Lash Blast + Diorshow

I have been a loyal fan of Diorshow Mascara for quite sometime.
I had hunted for a great mascara for quite sometime and had finally found "the one."
It didn't flake or smudge, and it thickened and lengthened.
Seriously, a great mascara is hard to find, at least for me....
I swear, my eyes must be weird, because almost everything
smudges and smears on me.

Cover Girl claims that their Lash Blast mascara is comparable to Diorshow
so being the product junkie that I am, I thought I'd put this product to the test.
I'm all for a lower price tag!
I tried it. I am in love with it!
This truly is comparable with Diorshow. For reals.
I'm sorry Dior, I truly will always be a fan, I've just found a mascara that
fulfills my needs with out the price tag.

More Office Talk

As I've mentioned before, I am trying to organize my home "office."
Here are a few more things that I'm liking for the office.

[3]"W" Magazine Stand –  AllModern [4] Alphaville ChairMore Home .
{This Alphaville is basically made in the style of chair designs in the Eames Aluminum Group....it is a great "look-a-like."}
 Thomas Paul File Folders

These office supplies by Michael Sodeau are too fun!  These would just look too cool in my office!

These Lucite trays would be so stylin' to keep a surface clutter-free.
I freaked when I saw all of the amazing patterns!  Freaked!
I don't know how I'd ever decide on just one pattern.
