Yellow Owl Workshop Stamp Sets at Modern Palm

We've been having a little fun with these Yellow Owl Workshop Stamp sets
I have to admit, I may have had just as much fun, if not more, as my kids.
Here's some fab art that we created, and I even framed a few...
I think when they're framed it makes them look so pro!

These are a few that my oldest 3 put together, cute no?!
I love that the creative possibilities with these sets are endless...
you can just use one set or mix sets to make the scenes unique.

These are the sets we used for these projects, but we've only just begun.

Modern Palm is very excited to now carry
Yellow Owl Workshop Stamp Sets

Can't wait to see what creative masterpiece y'all can come up with! Send us your photos and we'd LOVE to post them and share. Oh! now that would be fun... Please send us yours!
More art is on it's way, and maybe I'll show what we create. :)

Here are a few more new faves of mine.

Christian Chaize Art: "Praia Piquinia"

I was smitten when I first saw the work of Christian Chaize
The problem is, amidst my ever growing files of home decor ideas, I can't find the article  & photos to show you... for the life of me, I can't find where I first fell in love!
Luckily, Elle Decor had an article where Christian Chaize was featured again. When I first saw the article highlighting the amazing home of Australian, Kiane van Mueffling's Manhattan apartment, I squealed. Yup. I did. And I received weird looks from the hubby.
First, I noticed the incredible rug by Beauvais Carpets. It's a beauty.
Then, I noticed Christian's project , in all it's large glory, of a lovely beach in Portugal.  His project, which has extended through several years, is called Praia Piquinia. He has taken several photos of the same area of beach in Portugal.

Why is it so cool? Well, I love the happy colors of the umbrellas; the way he has captured a recent-ish moment in time, with several unknown people enjoying a day at the beach, and yet it has a retro/vintage feel. Most importantly, I've been to that beach and, once upon a time, have enjoyed time there.  I lived in Portugal for a bit, while in my early 20's, and it will always hold a special place in my heart. Plus, we all know how obsessed I am with the sun, palm trees, and beaches. That, my dears, is perfect art, in my opinion.
So, the sad part of the story is that my fave print, is a limited edition and is sold out.  Yes, it is true...Believe me, I even contacted Christian himself, and that print is gone. Anyone know how to work some magic? ;) Some of the prints are found on 20x200, a great place to find decent priced and unique art.

Katherine Rally Custom Art at Modern Palm Boutique

Why, isn't this lovely, fun and unique?
This canvas happens to be hanging in my kitchen right now,
and it makes me smile whenever I pass by.
I'm so in love with it!
This wall art was custom made for me by Katherine Rally Textiles and is
shown here in the Les Amis pattern
(just like the Les Amis patterns on the pillows in Modern Palm
and in the color Tangerine (we have some fun Tangerine colored pillows as well).

***If you'd like a custom art piece as well, you can email me
and tell me the dimensions,
pattern and color (which are shown in the pillow section on Modern Palm).

As soon as I finish painting the kitchen I will post a photo of this fantastic canvas in my kitchen.

More Art Work to LOVE

Found another Etsy site that is screaming with fun prints... I would love to hang any of these pieces by artist Angela Vandenbogaard. She even has a fantastic family tree that is not like other family trees I've seen... this is fun, whimsical, and modern. I so need to get this for my family.

Coralie Bickford-Smith: Deco Book Covers

Spotted these deco-inspired metallic covers for six titles from f. scott fitzgerald, over on Design*Sponge and instantly fell in love. Instantly. Wish I could just frame these books. The designs and colors are just beautiful, and love that they are metallic... so timeless. How lovely would this set look on your shelves, in your library, or as part of your decor?  I know my library would really welcome such stunning books/art.
In fact, I'm thinking it would make an incredibly thoughtful Christmas gift. Maybe Coralie is thinking that same thing since the release date is November 4th. What a talented smarty she is!

Jennifer Aniston + Harper's Bazaar = Barbra Streisand?

Ooooooo! Laaaa! Laaaa!
Have you seen this fabulous photo spread in Harper's Bazaar of Jennifer Aniston paying tribute to Barbra Streisand? I just love Jennifer, and although I completely do not agree with Barbra's politics, I adore her as an artist. In fact, I grew up listening to her and Neil Diamond.  My dad was a huge fan of the both of them, and so I, of course, loved them too. I still remember Dad playing through his stack of records and us kids dancing and singing to Neil and Barbra.  Her voice is so timeless and soothing, and her music has been a huge part of my life memories.

Barbra Streisand is so iconic. So fabulous. So talented. So amazing as a Funny Girl. I love that Jennifer used her acting skills and performed a flawless job at paying homage to such an amazing artist. I am in awe at these beautiful photos and Jen's portrayal of Barbra.  Talent just oozes out of these two women.

More Art Work to Love

I came across some more unique art work that I simply adore.
This online shop offers travel prints, photographs, and inspirational and humorous quotations.
All illustrations are hand-drawn in Adobe Illustrator by the artist, Alaina.
Once upon a time I lived in and taught High School in DC, and my husband grew-up right outside of DC, so I think this would be something fun and special to us both.
But the European series is very cute too.... maybe the Eiffel Tower for my daughter's room?

Another Etsy find was the artist Michelle Armas
I find myself drawn to her designs, shapes, and colors.
Her work seems timeless...

has some unique and vintage looking photographs that I think are fun.

These are all very different in styles, but very lovely in their own right. There are so many different ways to enjoy the talent, expression, and beauty that is in our world... that is what I love about art.

Steve Penley: Modern & Historical Art

I love art and I love history.
However, I don't always love art of historical moments.
As soon as I was introduced to Steve Penley's work, I was immediately in intrigued.
Modern. Bright. Expressive. Historical. Unique.
I would love to have some of his amazing work in my home.

Love how Steve explains his work:

"Each of these subjects has meanings which are imprinted in the back of our minds. By manipulating these images, I hope to bring the viewer into a new way of seeing familiar subjects. In today’s world we have a tendency towards deconstruction. Today’s heroes seem small and insignificant compared with those of the past... I would rather search for the ideal in these subjects and if possible give them a new dignity. These paintings are not documentaries of their respective subjects per se, but simply representations of the common bonds we all share with them. These formal and sometimes stoic images are a great contrast with bright colors and expressionistic brush strokes. And, hopefully this will give familiar subjects new life."

What do you think?
Do you have any favorite artists that focus on historical or patriotic art?

William Dohman Design and Photography

Love this Design and Photography Etsy store by William Dohman
He has some great photos, recycled wooden signs, and other decor.
This picture of Santorini, Greece is so bright and summery.
Oh! How I'd love to go to Greece someday!
These recycled wooden signs are a great way to add a little
graphic statement to a blank wall area.
