Karyn Millet Photography

Right now, I'm inspired by the photography of artist, Karyn Millet.

I've enjoyed her photography throughout different magazines,
but these photos are pure amazing.  Oh, how I wish I could enjoy one of Karyn's

Valentine Gumdrop Necklaces by One Charming Party

Love this new take on the candy necklace.
My daughter loves to make jewelry anyway, so I'm sure she will flip when I show her this photo.
I mean seriously, what is more fun than gumballs and jewelry?
Put them together= sweet girl JOY!

I have adored so many parties that the two lovely ladies from One Charming Party
Sara and Brittany, have organized. Their creativity is above and beyond.
I loved getting to know them at Alt Summit and was so impressed with their
crazy darling set up that they had for us to practice our photography skills.
Isn't this just a perfect set-up for a circus party?  Wow!

The Door Book & Michael Dobson Photography

I love a great coffee table book, I am in awe with amazing photography,
and I am quite fond of a beautiful or unique entrance.
I especially find doors quite interesting and revealing.
That is why I was so excited to learn about a project of an old friend of mine from high school,
Michael Dobson.  He became an amazing photographer and has been busy traveling the world
and photographing his journey. He has taken a special interest in photographing beautiful,
interesting, and unique doors from around the world.
Michael Dobson has  made several calendars and now has a beautiful book called

These are just a few photos that I loved.
Quite honestly, it was hard to narrow down to a few faves.  There are so many wonderful
and interesting doors, and the photography is just beautiful.
There is also a calendar of New York doors that is just fantastic!
I wonder if he'll make a calendar of doors from Boston, or for that matter, New England?
I think that New England has so many doors with character and charm.
Then again, so does the south. I know I've photographed many charming doors in Virginia,
Mississippi, and South Carolina.  Oh! and Italy.  Now there are some beautiful doors in Italy too!
What a fantastic project Mike!
I can't wait to see where your journey takes you next, and what doors you'll be finding along the way.
And this beautiful book is now at the top of my Christmas list...
Hello Santa! Are you taking notes?

Chrissi Richards Photography

Last week one of my dear-life-long friends came into town just to get together with the gals! It's about time Chrissi! You see, we were great friends back in college, worked together, and traveled together.  But, after she got married, she and her hubby moved around quite a bit...like all over the world.  I haven't seen her in almost 10 years, but the second I saw her, and my other dear friends, it's like nothing has ever changed.  Sure we had little kids running around us, but we still had those young 20-something hearts and memories. We didn't skip a beat. I'm so grateful for life-long friends! Chrissi, you amaze me with your happy attitude and constant kindness. Next time you come in town, I so want you to photograph my kids! Pretty please!

In those 10 years, my amazing friend, Chrissi, has become quite the photographer! She also has a darling family of 5 kids! This photo-shoot is with one of her beautiful daughters. Isn't it just darling? If you live in California, you will be super happy to know that she works in the Antelope Valley and Beyond. To see more of her work you can visit her site or blog.

Jennifer Aniston + Harper's Bazaar = Barbra Streisand?

Ooooooo! Laaaa! Laaaa!
Have you seen this fabulous photo spread in Harper's Bazaar of Jennifer Aniston paying tribute to Barbra Streisand? I just love Jennifer, and although I completely do not agree with Barbra's politics, I adore her as an artist. In fact, I grew up listening to her and Neil Diamond.  My dad was a huge fan of the both of them, and so I, of course, loved them too. I still remember Dad playing through his stack of records and us kids dancing and singing to Neil and Barbra.  Her voice is so timeless and soothing, and her music has been a huge part of my life memories.

Barbra Streisand is so iconic. So fabulous. So talented. So amazing as a Funny Girl. I love that Jennifer used her acting skills and performed a flawless job at paying homage to such an amazing artist. I am in awe at these beautiful photos and Jen's portrayal of Barbra.  Talent just oozes out of these two women.

Mila's Daydreams

Are you like me and in awe at the creativity of Mila's mommy, Adele?
Precious. Creative. Memorable. Clever.
While her baby is napping,
Adele tries to imagine and capture her lovely baby's dreams.
These are my faves from the many darling photos.

William Dohman Design and Photography

Love this Design and Photography Etsy store by William Dohman
He has some great photos, recycled wooden signs, and other decor.
This picture of Santorini, Greece is so bright and summery.
Oh! How I'd love to go to Greece someday!
These recycled wooden signs are a great way to add a little
graphic statement to a blank wall area.

Blurb Photo Book

I just got back today from a little trip to NYC with Mr. D.
We went to have a little get-away and we also went to visit my
brother and his wife before they leave NY.  My brother has been going to Cornell
and is graduating next week. I'm super proud of him and it was a lot of fun to spend a
few days with them in NYC. I'll share some fun things we did on our vacation in a bit...

But first, this is what I did for Mother's Day this year.
I finally finished a project I started last year.  I wanted to do something with all of the cute photos
I had from a photo shoot with the kids, and from Baby G's new born pics.
I haven't been good about printing my pictures and placing them in photo books,
so I decided to make a  Blurb book.  I can't tell you how much I loved the Blurb program.
It was extremely easy to use and I was very impressed with the quality of the book.
I printed a book for both my mom and my mother-in-law,
then I printed a book for each child to have when they get a bit older.

My goal is to make a Blurb book each year,
so that I make sure I'm doing something with all of our digital photos.
At the suggestion of my sister-in-law, Brooke,
I'd like to start the books with each school year and then end with the summer.
I like that idea of organizing it with the school year, since that is how I tend
to think of the year anyway, with a grade.
I am really excited to have a hard copy of all those pics I'm taking that are normally just
saved on my discs and hard drives.

I have also seen people make normal books with Blurb as well.
If you have an idea for a book, but don't have a publisher, you can just make your book,
text or photo, and print it to sell until you get a publisher.
Once again, the quality is fantastic!

Cannelle et Vanille

Photos via Cannelle et Vanille courtesy and copyright of Aran Goyoaga

You may already have paid a visit to the site Cannell et Vanille, but if you have not... do!  I love dropping in for a visit and enjoying the beautiful photography, photo styling and recipes.  Although I have not tasted her food, I feel like the photos just might taste better than the food, and that rarely happens!  Seriously! Look at how beautiful those pics are! They are bright, refreshing, and yummy. She takes food photography to an entire new level!

And since we are on the topic of weddings, I love to check out erin hearts court's blog.  Their photography and talent is so amazing and unique, and they post some wonderful examples of their work on their blog.  It is just fun to check it out, but I have to say one of my favs was the Kelly + Chris in Palm Springs.  That couple chose some of the most unique and charming flowers, colors, and ideas for their amazing wedding!  Here are just a few of the great pics...
