Book Love

Hey Mr. Santa! Ho! Ho!
I'm just sharing a few fabulous books that are on my ever-growing book-wish-list.
To start off, I'm so dying to take a peak at the two new Johnathan Adler books.
These are at the top of my list.
Love his bright, funky style.

I love this book by Leroy Grannis: Surf Photography of the 1960s and 1970s
What a fantastic coffee table book. Full of beach, surf and retro fun.

Modern Glamour by Kelly Wearstler

The Fashion Files: Advice, Tips, and Inspiration from the Costume Designer of Mad Men. I mean seriously...the clothing, decor and design that comes from this show is fantastic!
I adore.

I'm interested in learning more about cooking gluten-free and this book
looks like a good place to start! ;)

I can't wait to check out Barefoot Contessa's new book.

I'm always up for a good historical read and I've heard this book
about George Washington is a really good read.

American Modern is just one of several home interior books on my list.
I could go on and on with more book love. It's funny, in an ever
advancing technological world, I don't know if I'll ever let my book love go.
There is something about holding a physical book and
admiring amazing photography.
How about you? What books are on your list right now?

Fall Favorite Recipes

Here are a few of my Fall Favorite Recipes.  These are ones that I turn to as soon as the leaves start to change colors.

One thing is for sure... I love me some caramel popcorn.  Not just any popcorn.  I love soft, gewy, yummy caramel corn. This is a great and simple recipe for my criteria.

Caramel Popcorn

30 big marshmallows or 3 cups mini
1 cup margarine or butter
1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup corn and 3 Tbsp. oil
or
2 bags of the low butter or no butter, fat free popcorn.

pop the corn, then set aside.
melt marshmallows, margarine/butter, and brown sugar over stove on medium heat.
when melted pour over popcorn and stir.
Thoroughly enjoy!

Cover Girl Lash Blast + Diorshow

I have been a loyal fan of Diorshow Mascara for quite sometime.
I had hunted for a great mascara for quite sometime and had finally found "the one."
It didn't flake or smudge, and it thickened and lengthened.
Seriously, a great mascara is hard to find, at least for me....
I swear, my eyes must be weird, because almost everything
smudges and smears on me.

Cover Girl claims that their Lash Blast mascara is comparable to Diorshow
so being the product junkie that I am, I thought I'd put this product to the test.
I'm all for a lower price tag!
I tried it. I am in love with it!
This truly is comparable with Diorshow. For reals.
I'm sorry Dior, I truly will always be a fan, I've just found a mascara that
fulfills my needs with out the price tag.

Absorber Gels and Odor Eliminator Spray

With two in diapers I am desperate to get the stinky smell out, or the yucky bottle-spill smell from the car gone. I have luckily come across the greatest thing for this!  I swear by it!
And yes, I have a nice storage of this. I put the gels in all my rooms, bathrooms, and closets.
The scent is so mild but it absorbs yucky odors! Serious!

I'm Lovin' : tinted moisturizer

Tinted Moisturizer- Foundation is so tricky. I have yet to find the exact right one for me now that the sun damage from my teens has come to give me payback, so I stick with my tried and true Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer for now. A bit of coverage, but not so much you look like you are wearing a mask. The new illuminating version is best left to those without anything to hide, it's much sheerer than the original.
Oh, and pick up her translucent loose powder to set the tinted moisturizer.  It is the best!

Also, for those that want to spend a little less, during the summer I started using Olay Difinity Color Recapture.  It had a lighter coverage than the tinted moisturizure, which I liked for summer.  However, my sister-in-law tried it and did not like it.  It didn't work well with her sensitive skin.  I however, never had a problem and have liked it.  So, I guess this products depends on your skin type.  It is supposed to help with discoloration, wrinkles, dullness, and brown spots...all the problems my face is dealing with!  Help me!
I found this product for a great deal at Costco.

For those days that I need extra help, I will use a mineral powder foundation.  After trying several kinds, I still really like the feel and coverage of bearMinerals. With four kids to get ready, I can never seem to get myself fully ready and out of the house on time.  So, I usually end up putting my make-up on in the car at lights or in parking lots.  So, my only hang-up with this product is that it is a loose powder and therefore can be quite messy, especially in the car.  I need to just get in the habit of putting it on in the house or find a pressed mineral foundation that I like.  I've tried a few, but yet have found one that I love...
So, until I find a new one, this is my go-to powder foundation.

I'm Lovin'

I'm lovin' the Welda Baby Shampoo & Body Wash. Don't get me wrong! I will always be a fan of the Johnson & Johnson baby lotion and the trademark baby smell that comes with it! I still use that too! However, I have experienced a great thing with this new Welda product. Baby-G had crazy cradle cap a couple of months ago. I mean crazy flakes! Almost immediately after trying the Welda Baby Shampoo & Body wash his cradle cap DISAPPEARED! I could totally do a commercial for them! Right now you can print up a coupon to purchase this fabulous product on their website.
This is what they have to say:
Taking organic baby care to the masses: Weleda. The dermatologist-tested and 100 percent certified natural line of baby products is now available at Target, Whole Foods Market, and select natural health food stores nationwide.

Using organic calendula (a nourishing botanical with healing anti-inflammatory properties) cultivated from the label’s very own biodynamic gardens, Weleda has created a full line of baby creams, diaper care, and
bath and body washes aimed at gently caring for tiny bodies.

For a clean start, try the calendula shampoo and body wash. The gentle, tear-free wash retains the moisture in your baby’s hair and skin, leaving them feeling silky smooth and protected from drying out.

For Mommies: I am a fan of their yummy Skin Food!

Are You Ready?

I am soooooo, so, so ready!

In my opinion, one of the great things about summer is the show So You Think You Can Dance! It is basically the only thing on TV worth watching during the summer, and that is just great, because it is BY FAR my favorite show on TV! Seriously! It is the best show out there! It is entertaining, it is inspiring! The talent is crazy-out-of-this-world! I can dream about being the dancer I never was and always wished I were! It is fabulous!
I'm so excited that it is finally coming to the fall schedule. Thank you! Thank you, Fox!
(I am just slightly obsessed!)
