Amy Lau Design: Beach House

Love these rooms by designer Amy Lau Design.
I love the mix of natural elements and modern funky fun.
The chartreuse coloring is fantastic, especially mixed with aqua and gray.
Favorite part is the use of sticks/trunks as a funky part of the decor.
Amazing statement.

Designer Highlight: Meg Braff

There are many designers that I follow and adore...
however, I am going to go out-on-a-limb and say that Meg Braff
has become one of my favorite designers.
I'm continually impressed with her style and la, la, love that she includes
so many colors and textures.
I'm also impressed with how her designs can be fresh and unique
while remaining classy and timeless.
Once again, Coastal Living, has revealed some more of her fabulous work,
but this time, these lovely photos happen to be of her very own West Palm Beach condo.

Hey Meg! Next time I'm in Florida, how would you like to get lunch?
I'd love to come see this fantastic condo for myself!
Also shown on my other blog: Modern Palm Blog

I am such a fan of warm orange mixed with cool blue. It is a beautiful combo and this room looks
amazing paired with bold white. The wallpaper Meg Braff used is so fun and unique.

This dinning room is classy & simple, yet bold & vibrant.
Love how it is anchored with white, splashed with bright, happy colors,
and evened with the green plant.

Daring.
I don't know if I would have ever had guts to create a bright aqua bedroom,
but I certainly I'm impressed with this fun room.

The unique coffee table and shell-inspired ceiling fixture makes this room so whimsical.
The bold aqua furniture paired with the green pillows is genius,
and Oh! hello lovely yellow.

**You can get this look by using the graphic batik patterned pillows at Modern Palm.

Although I'm not one for a pink attack, I love how the Asian-inspired wallpaper
and a geometric print on throw pillows keeps this bedroom classy and mature.
I just can't get enough of Meg Braff's designs. Can't wait to covet more of her work.

The Whistle Bag by Jack and Lulu in Modern Palm + Julie Murphy Home Tour

I'm seeing at the bottom of the stairs?

While flipping through my blessed magazine, Coastal Living,
I spotted my favorite canvas bag inconspicuously placed in the beautiful home
Julie happens to be the founder and owner of Jack and Lulu
a line that I happen to carry in Modern Palm.
Julie's home was featured in the December issue of Coastal Living.  They restored a 1785 cottage in Rowayton, Connecticut, and it is sure a charmer.
I loved seeing what they've done to this darling home.
While the home now looks more modern and updated,
they were able to still hold on to the character, charm, and old-fashion
feel that really makes the home so timeless and welcoming.

Are you surprised that I'm loving obsessed with these yellow Tolix chairs?

This bedroom has a lovely antique iron bed with bedposts topped with pineapples.
Love the symbolism of the pineapple= hospitality.
And how darling are those 1951 prints of birds from a
book called "All About Your Canary"? Such a unique and personal display.

Julie, what a beautiful home. I am in love with your style and designs,
and love having Jack and Lulu items in Modern Palm.

Sarah Richardson: Primary Colors 1,2,3

"My Primary Colors are 1,2,3... Red, Yellow, and Blue"

Always a fan of Sarah Richardson, I'm always checking in on her to see her latest and greatest.
Today I spotted these lovely rooms she designed for the the Interior Design Show 2011.
This blue den was inspired by the wall sconce, floor lamp, and  clocks.
I love how it is rich and grounded, yet funky and fun. The perfect combo.

Right about now, in February, even though I should be all about red and pink,
I start craving yellow and green.
I am obsessed with this yellow bedroom.
Sarah knocked it OUT.OF.THE.PARK with this room!
Go Yellow! Go Yellow! Go, Go, Go Yellow!

I'm in love with: the hints of orange, that striped dress,
the white coffee table, headboard, foot tables. Um...EVERYTHING!

I used to have quite a bit of red hints in my home.
Although I don't feel ready to incorporate it again quite yet,
I'm really enjoying this dining room and loving those chairs.

I also featured Sarah Richardson on my site here.

Joel McHale: the funny guy who has the fabulous home!

All I'm going to say is Joel McHale... did you laugh? I did.
One of my fave shows is The Soup... I die laughing. When I saw that his home was highlighted in the December issue of InStyle I was curious what it would look like.
When I saw,  I freaked! I'm so completely in LOVE with his home.
In my dreams! In my dreams! I die! I love!
Never knew he was such a family man, now I'm impressed and like him even more. His met his wife, Sarah, back in college and they've been married 14 years. She had the dream job of a design assistant to Kelly Wearstler, yes, you read that correctly... THE Kelly Wearstler.
Huh! No wonder their home is fantastically wonderful.
With the help of another Wearstler alum, Elizabeth Gordon,
they created a home that is off the charts cool.
Want to see more?

I love the unique, white chandelier and the colored wallpaper on the ceiling
with the textured tree wallpaper, combined with the bright, funky painting.

This master bedroom is amazing and I'm so loving the capiz shell globe lights
and four-poster chrome bed.  They are both so unexpected and unique.

There are so many things I love about this home.
I'm impressed with how fab it is yet still cozy and live-able,
which is so important since they have two young children.

Serena & Lily

I loved getting the new Serena & Lily catalog and seeing all of the new amazing fabrics, bazaar treasures, designs, and decor items.  I especially loves Serena's new kitchen. I'm so loving her banquette and shelving. I'm quite obsessed with banquettes and am wanting one for my kitchen nook in a bad way.
Oh! and check out those amazing pillows. Wowzza!

Angie Hranowsky Design Studio

Right now it is snowing outside.
Although I love snow, especially during the holidays, I am always dreaming of a nice,
sunny, warm beach.  One place that I happen to love is Charleston, South Carolina.
Mr. D and I spent our 5 year anniversary there, and I've been wanting to take our
children back ever since then.  Actually, the dream is to rent a beach house on
Hilton Head and then travel around the area, which I adore.
Anyway... this fantastic home is located in Charleston, South Carolina,
which is interesting since Charleston is known for it's historical charm.
Although I'm a huge fan of the southern/eastern style, which is actually the exterior
style of my home, this modern twist in this home is perfect for me.
This style makes me so happy!

The owner and designer?
Why it is Angie Hranowsky and she just happens to have her own design studio.
I am obsessed with her style and work.

I love Angie's use and mix of color, texture, patterns, vintage and modern.
There is something a little unexpected and pleasant about they way she
incorporates each piece in her home.

I would love to move in her home right now! Everything is just perfect. Simply perfect.
