Amy Butler Bedding

Now, we all love Amy Butler fabrics! How great it is that there is now an Amy Butler organic bedding line. There are five garden inspired collections to choose from! I love the feeling I get when I look at her bedding. I can just feel her inspiration from Italy, Japan, South America, and England. It is bright, fresh, and modern! These are also going on the idea list for A-girl's bedroom.

Design Dazzle Bed Crowns

How cute are these bed crowns from Design Dazzle? I know A-girl would love this in her room. I'm wanting to do a few changes to her room, but I'm being very indecisive, so it might take some time before any change happens. These crowns are definitely on the list.

Just Dreamin'. . . . . .

To me, this place seems so crisp, clean, and inviting. I would love a get-away to this European location! Actually, I would take any European location.

Araminta Spookie Book Series

So, with Halloween coming around the corner, I think it would be fun to read a spooky but not scary book with my children! I haven't read this book yet, but I will start it with my children in October and we'll see how they like it. My Haunted House is the first book of a series of five. The books have received good reviews, so I'm excited to try them out. I'll let you know how they like them! If you have other fun Halloween books that are not too scary, I'd love to hear!

Are You Ready?

I am soooooo, so, so ready!

In my opinion, one of the great things about summer is the show So You Think You Can Dance! It is basically the only thing on TV worth watching during the summer, and that is just great, because it is BY FAR my favorite show on TV! Seriously! It is the best show out there! It is entertaining, it is inspiring! The talent is crazy-out-of-this-world! I can dream about being the dancer I never was and always wished I were! It is fabulous!
I'm so excited that it is finally coming to the fall schedule. Thank you! Thank you, Fox!
(I am just slightly obsessed!)

Marinade for Steak

This is a healthy & yummy recipe that I have always used for Flank Steak (obviously, since that is the name of the recipe). However, recently, I have used it for many different types of steak while grilling outside and have really come to love this versatile, no-fail marinade.
This comes from the Eating for Life recipe book by Bill Phillips. I really like this book for some basic healthy & easy recipes.

Marinated Flank Steak

1/3 cup lite soy sauce
1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 Tbsp olive oil
4 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1 flank steak (about 11/2 lbs)

In a large Ziploc bag , combine ingredients. Using a fork, pierce flank steak several times on both sides and place in Ziploc bag with marinade. Seal bag and refrigerate for at least an hour.

Preheat oven to 450 F. Put steak on broiler pan. Broil 3 inches from heat source for about 6 minutes on each side. Bon appetite!
